With the ten hectare plantation separated from the rest of the property (27 hectares in production), Livran is now on the path towards biodynamic cultivation, betting that a healthy and balanced plant will know how to defend itself. Thanks to soil work, plant-based infusions and respect of natural cycles, the vines are blooming and productive.

An exhaustive soil study has revealed clay-limestone soils on an outcrop of limestone: a piece of land as atypical as it is promising! Château Livran also benefits from the qualities of a oceanic climate which ensures a regular water source for the vine, a climate particularly favourable to a qualitative maturing of the grapes and of its natural tannins.
Thanks to these numerous favourable conditions, it seems self-evident to follow nature's example and respect the vine's cycles depending on the season to help it blossom as spontaneously as possible, thus explaining the choice of a progressive conversion to biodynamic cultivation.
For the major part, vinification is done in concrete tanks, with a few made in stainless steel. The methods are still traditional. The new chai (wine cellar), sober and aesthetic, in both its aspect and its operation, was finished in time the 2016 wine harvest.
Respectful of natural and human resources, it takes advantage of the assets of the domain with a natural regulation of the temperature (clay-based wall isolation, Canadian well heating system) and an optimization of water resources, allowing each plot to be worked on individually, in more serene conditions and with an increased efficiency. The wastewater produced (from vine-working and phytosanitation) now benefits from a new treatment process that is both natural and practical: nothing goes to waste in nature and it creates healthy compost.
Today the domain produces 150 000 bottles, with 50% Château Livran "Cru Bourgeois" and 50% Sources de Livran (second wine).
